Meditation Teacher Training Completed!

I am excited to announce that I have recently completed a 200-hour Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher Training Program offered by the Interdependence Project. This program is certified by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA), an organization that oversees national and international mindfulness teacher education and training standards. The IMTA ensures that teaching and education programs meet the level of depth and rigor needed to serve students and clients at the highest level and standardize the mindfulness teaching profession.

By completing this comprehensive training, I have expanded my scope of work to go beyond recommending meditation and mindfulness activities to actually providing these practices directly to clients and sharing them in community settings. This allows me to offer more in-depth and tailored support, helping individuals manage stress, find inner peace, and grow in their personal and professional lives.

The Value of Mindfulness and Meditation

Mindfulness and meditation are proven tools with numerous benefits for stress management and overall wellness. These practices help individuals cultivate a state of awareness and presence, reducing the impact of stress and anxiety on their lives. Regular meditation can improve emotional regulation, enhance concentration, and foster a sense of calm and inner peace.

One of the unique aspects of meditation is its versatility. Meditation can be seamlessly integrated with other spiritual or religious practices, such as prayer. For many, combining meditation with prayer enhances their spiritual experience, providing a deeper sense of connection and tranquility. This integration allows individuals to honor their religious or spiritual beliefs, while benefiting from the mindfulness practices that promote mental and emotional well-being.

My Professional Background

In addition to my recent certification, I hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health and a PhD in health psychology. I am also licensed by the National Board of Certified Counselors. My academic background, combined with extensive clinical experience, enables me to support clients in incorporating meditation and mindfulness practices into their self-care plans effectively. This holistic approach ensures that clients receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs and circumstances.

Opportunities to Work with Me

I am thrilled to share these practices in various ways, ensuring that everyone can find the support and guidance they need:

Individual Sessions

Whether in person or via Zoom, my individual sessions are designed to meet you where you are. We will start by discussing any challenges you face and identifying practices that might help you work through them. These sessions are personalized to integrate, to whatever extent you are comfortable, practices such as prayer, 12-step work, or other programs with mindfulness and meditation activities.

Community Offerings

I will be offering community sessions in the St. Lawrence River Valley and online via Zoom. These sessions are an excellent opportunity to experience the benefits of mindfulness and meditation in a supportive group environment. They are designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of prior experience with meditation or mindfulness.

“Remember Who You Are” Program

I am also excited to offer “Remember Who You Are,” a six-session on-demand workshop designed to help you reconnect with your authentic self. Through mindfulness, meditation, and creative exercises, this program will guide you back to inner peace and joy.

Each hour-long session, available via email with lifelong access, includes:

  • Mindfulness techniques to incorporate into daily life.
  • Meditation practices like body scans, lovingkindness, Calm Abiding, Walking, and RAIN.
  • Creative prompts to explore and celebrate what you love about yourself.
  • Activities that engage your senses and nurture your spirit.

The workshop also features personalized starting and closing sessions with me, offering support and recommendations for your ongoing journey. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to explore and reconnect with yourself.

Join Me on This Journey

I invite you to join me on this journey of mindfulness and meditation. Whether you choose to work with me individually, participate in community sessions, or embark on the “Remember Who You Are” program, I am here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can explore how these practices can help you manage stress, find inner peace, and reconnect with your authentic self.
